About Us

TORA MATCHA · SHIZUOKA

Japanese Matcha, Chosen from Its Proper Place.

Tora was built from within Japan, not from afar. Over a decade of living and working there taught us that quality doesn't start with the packaging; it starts with the season, the farm, and the trust built over time.

Tora's journey within Japan

From Japan, from within

Proximity to the source is not just a marketing phrase.

When Japan is your workplace and daily life, the selection process changes. You learn that the best details aren't always found in export lists, and trust with the producer isn't built in a single visit or a single season.

That's why we have an operational presence in Tokyo, staying close to the farms, factories, and decisions that make a difference in your cup.

We don't just look for matcha that looks good; we look for matcha whose story we know before it reaches the package.

Matcha evaluation and grade selection in Japan

Shizuoka · Yoshio Family

We know the farm, the harvest, and the reason behind every grade.

We work directly with Shoji Yoshio and his family, a multi-generational tea farming family in Shizuoka. This direct relationship allows us to understand the field, the season, and the harvest, then choose the grade based on its actual use.

That's why we don't treat matcha as a single category. What's suitable for drinking with water isn't necessarily what remains clear with milk, and true quality is choosing the right grade for the right experience.

Tora Standard

Clear details, from source to cup.

We select each product based on what it actually offers, and we explain these details before purchase instead of relying on general words about quality.

100% Matcha Pure matcha green tea powder, with no hidden blends.
No Additives No added sugar, flavors, or colors in pure matcha products.
Selection by Use A grade for drinking plain, and a grade designed to remain clear with milk and in recipes.
Source Information We specify the region, season, and characteristics that distinguish each harvest.

Two Grades, Two Clear Uses

The right matcha starts with how you drink it.

No single grade suits everything. That's why we offer two clear options instead of complicating the choice.
